The FIFA World Cup 2026 will feature an expanded format with 48 teams, introducing a new Round of 32 before the traditional Round of 16. Consequently, the teams designated as "W77" and "W75" are placeholders for the winners of specific matches in the Round of 32, meaning the actual participating national teams are yet to be determined. According to the official FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage bracket, W77 and W75 are not scheduled to play against each other in the Round of 16. Instead, they represent winners of different Round of 32 fixtures, leading to two separate Round of 16 matches:

• W77 will play against W74 in a Round of 16 match scheduled for July 4, 2026, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
• W75 will play against W73 in a Round of 16 match, also on July 4, 2026, at NRG Stadium in Houston.

The 2026 World Cup knockout stage will run from June 28 to July 19, 2026, culminating in the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The tournament will feature 104 matches across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The top two teams from each of the twelve groups, along with the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the Round of 32, commencing the single-elimination knockout phase.
