East Rutherford, New Jersey, will be a vibrant hub for FIFA World Cup 2026 festivities, featuring a dedicated "Downtown" fan celebration at Riggin Memorial Field and additional major fan experiences nearby. MetLife Stadium (referred to as New York New Jersey Stadium during the tournament) in East Rutherford is set to host eight matches, including the World Cup Final on July 19, 2026.

East Rutherford Downtown Fan Zone: Riggin Memorial Field

The "Downtown East Rutherford" fan zone is part of the "Goya Presents Flag Cities 2026" initiative, designed to offer a dynamic, soccer-infused atmosphere for both residents and visitors.

• Location: Riggin Memorial Field, East Rutherford, NJ.
• Date & Time: Friday, June 26, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. This event will take place the day before a Group L match between Panama and England at MetLife Stadium.
• Events & Activities:
• Live Match Broadcasts: Two matches from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Uruguay vs. Spain and Cape Verde vs. Saudi Arabia, will be broadcast on large LED screens starting at 8 p.m.
• Live Music: Performances by Royal Scam, a Steely Dan tribute band, and Easy Honey, an indie rock band.
• Food & Beverages: Expect food trucks offering diverse cuisine, along with other beverage vendors and a beer garden.
• Family Fun: The fan zone will include designated kid's zones and soccer zones for children to play and test their skills.
• Vendor Village: Custom merchandise and artisan vendors will be present.
• Cultural Activations: The event aims to celebrate the culture of the teams playing, with flag installations and pep rallies.
• Admission: All Flag Cities events, including the one at Riggin Memorial Field, are free to the public, though RSVP may be encouraged.

The Rutherford Rail Station is approximately a 7-minute walk away. Guests are strongly encouraged to use public transportation or rideshare services due to potentially limited parking.

It features live match broadcasts on a 60-foot screen on the pitch, live music, interactive fan activations, and dining options. General admission is free with advance registration. Public transportation to Sports Illustrated Stadium is easily accessible via the PATH train to Harrison Station.
• Dream Fan Fest (American Dream Mall, East Rutherford, NJ): The American Dream complex, located near MetLife Stadium, will host a 39-day World Cup celebration with daily events, watch parties for various matches, brand activations, and hospitality options. American Dream also offers a wide range of entertainment, including indoor theme parks, a waterpark, and indoor skiing. Parking is available at American Dream, but it may be limited and expensive on match days.
• New York City Fan Zones: Official fan zones will be hosted across New York City's five boroughs, with key locations including:
• Queens Fan Zone: USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (June 11-27).
• Brooklyn Fan Zone: Brooklyn Bridge Park (June 13-July 19).
• Manhattan Fan Village: Rockefeller Center (July 6-19) with the rink transforming into a pitch with large screens. Hudson Yards will also feature a 30-foot outdoor screen for live broadcasts throughout the tournament.
