This five-week festival, set against the iconic backdrop of the Manhattan skyline, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty, is expected to be a major highlight of the World Cup experience in the New York/New Jersey region.

Events and Activities:

The FIFA Fan Festival at Liberty State Park will offer a wide array of activities for all ages:

  • Live Match Screenings: All 104 World Cup matches, including the eight games held at MetLife Stadium and the final on July 19, will be broadcast on large screens throughout the park.
  • Music Performances: The festival will feature headline music performances and concerts, especially on non-match days during the tournament's knockout stages. Live Nation New York is partnering with the NY/NJ FIFA World Cup Host Committee to produce these events.
  • Family-Friendly Programming: Attendees can expect a variety of programming suitable for families.
  • Diverse Food Options: A wide range of food offerings from the New York/New Jersey region will be available, with local vendors participating.

Visitor Guide:

Visitors planning to attend the FIFA Fan Festival at Liberty State Park should be aware of several important details:

  • Dates and Hours: The festival will run from Thursday, June 11, to Sunday, July 19, 2026, encompassing all 39 days of the tournament. General admission tickets for the opening week are already available.
  • Capacity: The Fan Fest is designed to accommodate up to 45,000 spectators.
  • Transportation and Parking: Public transit or walking is highly recommended due to limited or closed parking lots at Liberty State Park during the festival period, starting as early as May 1 for setup. The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail is expected to be a primary link to the Fan Festival, and NJ Transit plans to increase bus and shuttle service frequency during festival hours.
  • Park Access and Amenities:
  • Liberty State Park will remain open for passive recreation like walking, running, and cycling.
  • However, grassy areas in the center of the park will have limited access starting May 1 to facilitate festival setup.
  • Picnicking opportunities will be limited, and group picnic reservations will be paused from May through July in certain areas of the park.
  • The public boat ramp on Morris Pesin Drive will be closed for the duration of the FIFA Fan Festival.
  • Access to the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway is also expected to be limited.
  • Nearby Attractions: Surrounding attractions such as ferries to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Liberty Landing Marina (with its restaurants), and the Liberty Science Center will remain open.
