Venue Overview

BMO Field, an outdoor stadium, first opened its doors in 2007, built on the site of the former Exhibition Stadium. The stadium holds significant historical value in Canadian soccer, having hosted matches for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

For the FIFA World Cup 2026, BMO Field is undergoing substantial enhancements, with investments from the City of Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) totaling approximately $157.9 million. These renovations include a temporary expansion of seating, a new rooftop patio and lounge, upgraded team dugouts, LED videoboards, and an improved sound system. Toronto is one of only two Canadian cities to host matches, and BMO Field will play a crucial role in Canada's tournament journey.

Match Schedule & Events

BMO Field is set to host six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, including five group stage games and a pivotal Round of 32 knockout match. A highlight of Toronto's schedule is Canada's opening match on June 12, 2026. Other confirmed group stage fixtures at the stadium will feature teams such as Germany, Ghana, Panama, Croatia, and Senegal. The Round of 32 match is scheduled for July 2, 2026.

Beyond the matches, Toronto will host an official FIFA Fan Festival™ at Fort York National Historic Site and Garrison Common, running from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This free event will offer live match screenings, music, cultural performances, food vendors, and interactive fan zones for all ages.

• GO Train: The most recommended option. Take the Lakeshore East or West lines directly to Exhibition GO Station, which is just a short 2-minute walk south to BMO Field. GO Trains run every 30 minutes.
• TTC Streetcar: The 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst streetcars have stops near BMO Field. From Union Station, board the 509 Harbourfront streetcar towards Fleet Loop.
• TTC Bus: Several bus lines, including the 29 Dufferin, 63 Ossington, 80 Queensway, and 929 Dufferin Express, serve the Exhibition Place area. The #29 bus south from Dufferin Station on the Bloor subway line will take you to Exhibition.
• Subway: Connect to streetcar or bus routes from the Yonge-University (Line 1) or Bloor-Danforth (Line 2) subway lines.

Parking is available at various lots within Exhibition Place, though it's advised to arrive early or pre-book, especially on major event days.

• From Downtown Toronto: The GO Train from Union Station to Exhibition GO Station is the fastest and most convenient method, taking approximately 8-10 minutes. Alternatively, a taxi or rideshare takes about 6 minutes (3 km).
• From Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ): Take the UP Express train to Union Station, then transfer to the GO Train to Exhibition GO Station.
